NETL implements Fossil Energy’s Oil and Natural Gas Program which includes R&D on: shales, tight sands, and coalbeds with emphasis on the myriad of environmental aspects related to resource development, especially hydraulic fracturing; oil resources to help the Nation’s small and independent operators; Ultra-Deepwater; and Methane Hydrates.
